I would like to start blogging on an odd project. A project which is about getting a motorbike to run on LPG (Liquified Petrolium Gas).
As you are already aware, the Netherlands has the highest gazoline prices, and driving approximately 50,000km a year is an expensive hobby, if you do not have a company car. Also with the over-congested highways which reduces your average speed to less the 50km/h.
With these facts in mijnd as well as the "scruge" factor (as my wife says) I had been contemplating for more than a year and a half about getting a motorbike to run on LPG. With quite some research on the net, I was conviced that it was possible. Not beeing the first to attempt an odd project like this and having researched TUV & Road-Acceptance certification/homolgation, I now had to find a bike.
I started looking on several auction sites, and of course have a Yamaha FZ6 with ABS I wanted to absolutely have ABS. The choice of bikes was quickly reduced to less than 4 models. To spare you ended up bidding on a governement auction for a BMW K1200RS (actually K1200P) with 100,000 km (ex-highway police bike). This
